YANKEE DOODLE BORE, Northern Territory

This dandy well can be found in the wild west of the Northern Territory in the Gurindji region, named after the local Gurindji people.
A short pony ride will take you to Kalkarindji, the site of the famous Wave Hill walk-off and strike by 200 Gurindji workers at a cattle station in 1966. This landmark land rights event eventually led to a portion of the land being given back to the indigenous people.
